WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Walter Kaitz Foundation has extended its August 20 deadline for the purchase of advanced tickets for the 2004 Kaitz Foundation Dinner to September 1.  The deadline for hotel reservations through the Foundation also has been extended to September 1, while the purchase of advertising for the dinner program remains today (August 20).

Co-chaired by Matthew Blank, Chairman & CEO, Showtime Networks, and Glenn Britt, Chairman & CEO, Time Warner Cable and Chairman of the Board of the Walter Kaitz Foundation, the 21 st Annual Kaitz Foundation Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, at the Hilton New York in New York City.  Cocktails begin at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m.

“Business attire” is recommended for those attending the event.

“Ticket purchases have been brisk in recent weeks, with more than 1,000 tickets having already been purchased.  We want to make sure that every company or interested individual has the opportunity to support and attend this great event,” said Debbie A. Smith, Executive Director, Walter Kaitz Foundation.  “As the centerpiece of cable's Diversity Week, this is the one occasion that no industry executive should miss.”

A table of ten for the dinner is available for $10,000. Individual seats can be obtained for $1,000, though availability may be limited.

Forms for dinner reservations and hotel accommodations, as well as additional information about the dinner, are available from the Kaitz Foundation Web site, www.walterkaitz.org . Forms and additional information also can be obtained by calling the Walter Kaitz Foundation at (202) 775-3611.

This year's dinner honors Spencer Kaitz, Founder of the Walter Kaitz Foundation and former President and General Counsel of the California Cable & Telecommunications Association.  In addition, the activities and achievements of the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT), and the Emma Bowen Foundation – the primary recipients of funding from the Foundation – will be highlighted during the dinner.  A special video segment also planned for the dinner will feature several founding Trustees of the Walter Kaitz Foundation, as they reflect on the progress and future of the Foundation.

The Walter Kaitz Foundation recently was reorganized under the administrative umbrella of NCTA. As part of its new charter, in addition to providing substantial grant funding for pro-diversity initiatives, the Foundation has been charged by its transition committee with developing an industry-wide supplier diversity program and robust Web site emphasizing industry-based diversity activities.

The Walter Kaitz Foundation is the cable industry's national foundation dedicated to diversity.
